Our Roots
What began in 2000 as a small private arts studio founded by Erin Calev has grown into a mission-driven nonprofit committed to equity and empowerment. For 25 years, Erin worked closely with students of all backgrounds and abilities, offering voice and performance lessons that helped shape more than just their talents.
Over time, Erin’s philosophy evolved: the arts were not only a path to excellence—they were a path to joy, confidence, and connection. This belief became the foundation for what EMC Holistic Arts is today: a welcoming community where creativity and self-expression inspire people to thrive, grow, and feel a true sense of belonging through music and the arts.
Why We Became a Nonprofit
In early 2025, EMC ARTS transitioned into a nonprofit organization to better serve our mission of accessibility and impact. Our nonprofit status allows us to expand our reach, reduce financial barriers, and partner with schools and community agencies to bring arts-based education to more people. We want every person, regardless of their background, to have the chance to thrive creatively, emotionally, and socially.
