Summer Arts & Music Classes for Kids 

 

Join the EMC family for a summer of play, paint and PURPOSE!

 
 

This July, EMC Arts invites children in Grades 1–8 to dive into a joyful world of color, music, and imagination through our summer arts and music classes in Bergen County, NJ. With programs designed for all skill levels, your child will explore everything from watercolor and sculpture to glee singing and guitar solos—all in a safe, inclusive, and inspiring environment.

Time: Weekdays, 9 AM – 12 PM
Grades: 1–8

VISUAL ARTS CLASSES

Little Artists

GRADES 1 -3
"Color Magic & Paper Play"

​Watercolor Wonders: Mimic the fluid, dreamy effects seen in watercolor demos, blending salt and alcohol for organic textures. 

Collage Adventures: Layer torn paper, fabric, and found objects to create 3D scenes. 

Sculpting with Paper: Fold, curl, and glue paper into whimsical creatures, inspired by tactile demo techniques.​​

Teen Art Studio

"Portfolio Worthy Projects"

Advanced Graphite, Charcoal and Watercolor Portraits: Master wet-on-wet blending and masking fluid techniques, as shown in detailed tutorials. 

Manga & Comic Art: Develop original characters with inked lines and screentone shading, inspired by professional manga reels. 

Mixed Media Sculptures: Combine paper, wire, and paint to build textured artworks, akin to the layered approaches in 3D demo videos.

GLEE & GUITAR CLASSES

Glee Singers

11 AM - 12 PM
GRADES 5 - 8

Come and sing with us! Voice coaching and exercises to develop your singing.

Focus on creating our own vocal arrangements of popular songs. Rehearse and prepare them for performing and recording in class. All skill levels are welcome. Solos encouraged!

Guitar Group

Big Fun! Learn the fundamentals of guitar and ukulele through FUN rock & roll basics! Learn the “riffs,” chords, lines and runs that make up classic songs by The Beatles, the Rolling Stones and others. Let’s rock! Acoustic guitar, bass, or electric guitars are welcome. Students should have their own guitar or uke. There are a limited number of amplifiers available for student use. Each student will have chances to try the electric guitar and bass. For beginners and intermediate players.

A series of interdisciplinary arts classes exploring the words of storytelling through literature, visual arts and performance. Students will dive into captivating books through engaging read-alouds, imaginative art projects, and hands-on theater workshops. From crafting wild creature masks and futuristic robots to reenacting epic mythological quests, campers will bring stories to life through creative expression.
